NEURO Faculty Membership

The Neuroscience faculty has overall responsibility for the quality and well-being of the major.  Faculty members are drawn from across the university according to their interest and qualifications.  New membership into the NEURO faculty is attained by vote of the existing membership.

In considering a faculty member for membership in NEURO, each applicant's activities during the last five years in the following areas will be examined:

  1. The applicant must be dedicated to graduate education and must show evidence of maintaining high standards of scholarship.
  2. The applicant must be committed to the idea of interdisciplinary training and must be willing to participate actively in the affairs of the Neuroscience Program, attend the Neuroscience seminars and encourage students to do the same.
  3. The applicant must have an active, high quality, research program.
  4. The applicant must have ability to obtain, or the prospects of obtaining, competitively awarded research support in the area of NEURO.

The quality and appropriateness of the research program will be judged on the basis of a complete curriculum vita and five publications produced during the last five years. All application materials should be submitted electronically.

  2. A brief letter requesting faculty membership which includes:
    1. A statement of research interests that clearly details aspects related to NEURO.
